Hindu Kush Mountain Ranges

The Hindu Kush is a mountain range in Pakistan. It has many geographical and historical features that make it a very interesting and important tourist attraction in Pakistan.
The name of this mountain Range itself gives an ancient historical hint. "Hindu Kush" in Persian means "Hindu Killers". This Magnificient range stretches over a distance of 800km. Starting from Afghanistan, Its central body lying in Pakistan, its stretched body ends in Tajikistan.

Hindu Kush Mountain range has numerous peaks of extremely high altitude. Many of these peaks are unique since they are snow-capped all year long. The highest peak that lies within Hindu kush mountains is named "Tirich Mir".  "Tirich Mir" has a total altitude of "7710" and is one of the most popular spots in Hindu kush ranges for tourists. Hikers and wanderers around the world climb Hindu kush mountain range to explore its wonders and to feel the adventurous amusement it offers.

Tirich Mir Lies in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. towards the east of Hindu Kush, the mountain it merges into the great Karakoram Mountain Ranges. It is amusing to know that Himalayas, Karakoram Ranges, and Hindu Kush Mountain Ranges meet each other and merges into each other within Pakistan. This makes Pakistan in a sense of uniting point of these Long stretched giants mountain ranges of the world.

Hindu kush mountains have a very rich historical background. various civilizations belonging to various religions have lived on the land of Hindu Kush in Pakistan. Many Invaders with their horses have passed the Hindu kish mountain ranges. With all this history of thousands of years, Hindu kush not once has disappointed its spectator. On the other hand, it never ceases to amaze people with its rich topographical features and the magical beauty God has bestowed upon the mountainous region of Hindu Kush.

Hindu kush was a Religious center for the Buddhist civilizations and to this date, great Buddhist temples exist in the region like "Buddhas of Bamyan". The Hindu kush remained a significant historical home for polytheistic religions until 1800's.

Many Great generals have marched the mountainous region of Hindu kush like "Alexander the Great" and "Mehmood of Ghazni".It has provided important strategic pathway to various historic invasions and continues to be a significant strategic pathway in Afghanistan Warfare.

Khyber Pass a world heritage site, also lies within these majestic mountain ranges in Pakistan. Which is major tourist attraction in Pakistan.

Astola Island - The Island Of Seven Hills
