It is considered to be one of the highest paved highway in the world .Karakoram highway passes through Khunjerab pass that on altitude of approximately 4500m from sea level.

Khunjerab pass is the world's highest paved international border. A fun fact about Karakoram highway is that it also host's an ATM that's recognized to be situated at the highest altitude in the world (Off course any tourist would love to visit this ATM with such a cool title).

There are many peaks in Karakoram range however in total 8 notable peaks of Karakoram Range are that exceeds the altitude of 7500m. and these gigantic peaks have made a separate name of their greatness and magnificence.

K-2 the world's second highest peak is among these notable 8 peaks.

Climate

As everyone can already assume, due to high altitude the climate in Karakoram ranges is usually Severe. Towards the northern part of Karakoram range the region is mostly dry, however the southern part receives monsoon winds that are moist in nature.

Well it's notable fact about climate that average temperature noted in Karakoram Range is about 1 Degree Celsius during the hottest month. Finding snow hammocks in Karakoram Range is normal, that may range from height of 2-3feets.Precipetation in Karakoram ranges is usually in form of snow.

A native of Karakoram originates their family links to people of ancient generals like Genghis khan and Alexander the Great.
